Biology, Depression, and PEMF Therapy

Depression and PEMF therapy are now being studied more due to the growing number of cases labeled as “treatment resistant.”

More prescription medications are developed each year, many of which are never released.

This is because the trials are failing.

When patients continue to try various prescriptions, and they only work for 3 or 4 months, it can leave the patient feeling frustrated and discouraged.

Is biology being ignored?

Today, this article will discuss biology, depression, and PEMF therapy.

You will learn why a simple biology lesson lends efficacy to success with depression and PEMF therapy.

A Biology Lesson on Depression and PEMF Therapy

The history of depression is unlike the history behind any other illness.

During the early 1800’s, it was believed that depression was inherited, thus something that could not be changed.

Viewed as a form of temperament problem, many suffered.

Many cultures also viewed depression as a form of demon possession.

The methods of treatment were rather strange, and there was no form of prescription medication.

The method of immersing people in water until they could take it no more, or spinning people to rearrange their brains were the primary methods until electroshock therapy was developed.

Today, the way depression is treated is very different.

ECT or electroconvulsive therapy is a more modern form of electroshock therapy.

This therapy is done under anesthesia, and can reverse symptoms very quickly of depression and anxiety.

This was the only form of treatment that appeared to work when other treatments and medications failed.

PEMF therapy has come on the scene as a more effective and completely non-invasive therapy.

Why is electricity an important factor and how does it work?

The electric current is passed through the brain, impacting only the left side.

This side controls negative thoughts, aggression, and anger.

This side is where you’ll find the dorsolateral, prefrontal cortex.

When the electric current passes through, it “disrupts” the connections within the brain.

What has it shown researchers and doctors?

These studies attempted to find out whether the size of the brain was a factor.

Additionally, doctors were looking at connections inside the brain to determine if there were too many or too little.

Hunter, a research company, discovered that there was greater connectivity in the brains of patients that suffered from major depression when they used a method known as QEEG.

You can read the full study HERE.

This type of study emits various electrical currents to measure cortical activity. The results are monitored and note with the use of a computer.

This attempt to map the activity in the brain is what researchers believer may be the key to learning more about depression and how it develops.

Depression and PEMF therapy are also on the radar.

This is because it is non-invasive, and studies that have been conducted show that it is effective.

Many individuals associate fear with methods like electroconvulsive therapy, or any other method that requires anesthesia, or inducing a seizure to see what happens to the brain.

PEMF therapy emits electromagnetic fields through the brain, and induces a state of relaxation rather than inducing a physical event in the body.

This is where the patient and their family members find PEMF therapy to be safer.

The science behind the electromagnetic fields makes more sense to individuals in how it correlates to biology.

This is because we know the brain and the body respond to electromagnetic fields. The brain responds well to 8-12 Hz, which is the Alpha state. This is when the eyes are closed.

The Delta state, a state of deep sleep ranges from 0.5-4 Hz. This is why settings of 3 Hz are recommended in the evening to aid in relaxation prior to bed time.

Theta waves ranging from 4-8Hz, are present as an individual begins to feel drowsy at bed time.

Beta waves in adults who are awake and alert, settle around 13 Hz.

This is the most basic evidence that biology plays a role in therapy for depression.

The very frequency that the brain responds to can be replicated with a PEMF device.

The more exposure an individual gets to electromagnetic fields, the better the outcome.

This is why depression and PEMF therapy are being studied more thoroughly in the United States.

It is vital that the United States consider the worst cases of major depressive disorder to find out just how powerful this therapy is.

When invasive procedures are recommended, like ECT or QEEG, it may cause the individual to be so fearful that they avoid any therapies, thus leaving their depression unresolved.

If your loved one were suffering with depression, which one would you be more likely to choose?

Depression and PEMF Therapy Are Getting More Attention

There are numerous PEMF devices on the market today, so it’s no surprise that researchers want to try them.

Bryant Meyers, a leader in Energy Medicine, has dedicated most of his career to the study of PEMF therapy.

He has tried every device on the market since the beginning of his career, spending more than $500,000 on devices.

His passion behind his research is to find out what works and what doesn’t.

He also wants people to know that their body is much more than a physical being.

The fact that the human body responds positively to electromagnetic fields, without any negative activity, is a huge bonus for those who have tried other therapies but failed.

If you have been struggling with depression, or you have become frustrated with conventional methods during your journey, there is hope in more modern day research being conducted on “depression and PEMF therapy“.

Can you recommend a pemf device to try to assist one with depression ? Or at least guidelines. There are so many PEMF devices it is hard to know which to buy. Do I get one which has a strong field ? ( more Gauss). Or do I focus on frequency ? Do I need a mat system like the Bemer or iMRS or can I get a budget model like the Earth Pulse systems or something else ? Thank you so much for your help,

      Hi Rita,

Thank you for your comment. Research is now telling us that many folks are treatment-resistant. This means to medications and other therapies, which has led to increased interest in PEMF therapy. Research also tells us that lower intensity is best for most conditions. We are happy to answer questions you may have about our OMI PEMF therapy mats, rings, and pads, but we do not sell Bemer or iMRS. If you have questions about our devices, please give us a call at 1-844-855-7373, and speak with one of our customer service representatives.

      Thank you,
      The Team at PEMF Supply

We have developed low field transcranial magnetic stimulation helmet for depression .We have treated about 40 cases of MDD and bipolar where antidepressants medicine failed to give any relief those patients showed good improvement after using our low field transcranial magnetic stimulation helmet in 4-6 weeks on daily use. 15-20 year old cases of depression. You can also use our device in home without assistance of any doctor.

      Hi Samir,

Thank you for your comment. That is wonderful to hear. Our OMI mat is most popular for those seeking full-body therapy. So glad that you have had some success with your therapy.

      Have a great day,
      The Team at PEMF Supply
